Our “Future Focus” series finds us in the New England area and a conversation with Cassandra Quintal, a licensed surveyor and GIS professional from Maine. From her early days working for an attorney reviewing abstracts and earning her master’s degree in GIS to going back to school for her surveying degree and eventual licensure, Cassandra shares her colorful journey in today’s profession with Tim Burch. She shares her experiences using her surveying and GIS background in varying environments, including her love for boundary retracement in the backwoods of Maine. Cassandra also shares her involvement in starting the Maine Young Surveyors group and how important the mentor relationship is to the young practitioner.

For our first episode back from the holidays, we invited Dr. Marian Young, a recently retired educator from East Tennessee State University, to share her story of teaching our wonderful profession for the past few decades.
